Business, non-profit
As an Exec Director of a non profit organization. A big part of my job was finding money! It was my job to raise funds, apply for grants, get donors and ....secure sponsorship.
Government
My job there was to GIVE the money away. My portfolio was several million a year that I released on projects and services.
For Profit Business
My own business. I became really involved in sponsorship in a couple of ways. 1- I was looking for sponsorship for my projects (my book launches, speaking tours, product creation) and 2- finding sponsorship for my clients. I was able to find $250,000 of sponsorship in a few weeks for one of my clients for their big conference.and... as a small business... just like you I get calls every day asking me to be a sponsor for them.
Education, (paying my dues)
It took me more than 10 years and thousands & thousands of dollars to learn how to do this the right way. I hired coaches at more than $60,000, hired a sponsorship staff for 3 years totaling $30,000, hired an intern to help with sponsorship research and prospecting, purchased books, and took in every webinar I could.So having been on all 4 sides of the sponsorship table and investing more than $200,000 in hard costs and time, I am able to teach my clients everything they need to know and do (and the exact order), to short cut their learning so they can be as successful.
I am working with multiple clients who are looking for 6 and 7 figure sponsorship arrangements right now.
